Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) announced on 8th march that it is to launch a new Korea-Vietnam-Cambodia direct service and to enhance its market power in the intra-Asia. HMM brands the service 'CTX(China-Thailand-Express)'.

The CTX service calls at Tianjin, Busan, Gwangyang, Shanghai, Hochiminh, Sihanoukville, Laem Chabang, and Manila. It turns 3 weeks using four 2,200 teu container vessels: Hyundai Bridge, Hyundai Future, Hyundai Highway, Hyundai Vladivostok. Hyundai Vladivostok starts its first service on 10 March at Hyundai Pusan New Port Terminal, and it will return to Sun-kwang Newport Container Terminal in Incheon on 31st of this month.

From Busan to Hochiminh and to Laem Chabang, it will take six days and ten days respectively. Especially, it will take eight days from Busan to Sihanoukville (Cambodia), so it is expected that HMM can provide a rapid service to its customers.

HMM officials said “This service is a direct service connecting Korea-Cambodia, and it only takes eight days to Sihanoukville. With this service HMM can meet the high supply demands in intra-Asia region.”
